Tajweed And Noorani Qaida
The word ‘Tajweed’ means to do better and improve.
Tajweed is a set of rules that help us read the Quran properly, exactly like how angel Jibreel recited it to the Prophet (PBUH). We must practice Quran with tajweed to avoid any major mistakes that could change the Quran’s meaning.
Errors in Quran recitation
There are two types of errors people make when reading: clear mistakes and hidden mistakes.
Clear mistakes are usually obvious and can change entire words’ meanings. Hidden mistakes, on the other hand, are harder to catch. There is a consensus among the scholars in the opinion that tajweed being applied to avoid the clear mistakes is an individual obligation (Fard Ayn), while applying the rules of tajweed to avoid the hidden mistakes is a collective obligation (Fard Kifayah)
Allah (SWT) says in Surah Muzammil, “Recite the Qur’an with measured recitation.”Surah Muzammil
