Hijab and Islam referred to by different names, probably the most well-known of which are a cover or a headscarf. Most Muslims who wear the covering call it a hijab (حجاب), an Arabic word signifying “spread.” However, there are different types of hijabs that are referred to by diverse names. While hijab is ordinarily connected with ladies, Muslim men likewise some of the time wear a head covering as a method for demonstrating unobtrusiveness. Moreover, Christian and Jewish ladies in a few conventions wear a headscarf as a social practice or duty to humility or piety.
Issue of Hijab in Islam and the Quran:
Islam has firmly emphasized the idea of decency and modesty in the collaboration between individuals from the opposite sex. Clothing regulation is a piece of that general educating. There are two verses in the Qur’an in which Almighty Allah discusses the issue of decency and hijab as characterized before.
- Hijab protects women from such men; it symbolizes that she has been sanctified to one man only and is off-limit to all others.
- Hijab contributes to the stability and preservation of marriage and family by eliminating the chances of extramarital affairs.
- Finally, it compels men to focus on the real personality of the woman and de-emphasizes her physical beauty. It puts the woman in control of strangers’ reactions to her.
In Chapter 24 known as an-Nur (the Light), in verse 30, Allah commands Prophet Muhammad as follows:
قُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ يَغُضُّوْا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَ يَحْفَظُوْا فُرُوْجَهُمْ, ذَلِكَ أَزْكَى لَهُمْ
“Say to the believing men that: they should cast down their glances and guard their private parts (by being chaste). This is better for them.”
Then in the next verse, Allah commands the Prophet to address the women:
قُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَ يَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوْجَهُنَّ…
“Say to the believing women that: they should cast down their glances and guard their private parts (by being chaste)…”
Hijab is one of the commandments of Allah (SWT). The Holy Prophet (SAW) observe proper Hijab are blatantly defying the commandment of Allah (SWT). Ahlul Bayt (as) suffered hardships and offered unparalleled sacrifices to bring original Islam to us. Discarding Hijab puts their sacrifices in vain. And the pleasure of Allah (SWT) is the greatest bliss. But for those who disobeyed, what punishment is awaiting them but Hell-Fire!
