The month of blessings is just about to come. Often Muslims are worried about the upcoming Ramadan, especially when the upcoming Ramadan is in the summer. It is something terrible; instead of being excited about Ramadan, we are most of the time listening and giving such statements, “Oh God ! how would we fast in such hot weather” “it’s going to be almost 15-16 hours fast (in some countries) “this Ramadan would be a real tough one, so long duration of fast” it would be complicated to fast in summers”. Some may express a negative attitude towards the long fasts, and others might try to find excuses to avoid fasting altogether.

How to Welcome Upcoming Ramadan?

Is that the spirit we must welcome Ramadan with? Should our attitude towards the upcoming Ramadan be like this? Not all Muslim sisters and brothers show such an attitude towards Ramadan. Some of us are also excited about Ramadan, and that is what we all should do. Most of us are worried about the duration of a fast as this Ramadan will be in summer INSHALLAH. And days of summers are long and hot, so it doesn’t seem very easy to spend a day without food and water, especially water. Dear brother and sisters, this is not a matter to worry about ! why do we worry when we know the reward would be doubled as our effort is doubled. Could not we stay a few hours more thirsty and hungry for the pleasure of our creator? ALLAH never put us in difficulty. If such a long fast had been impossible for us, Ramadan would not have been in June or July. And if it is in June or July, there must be some bonus or extra reward for it. Best and fast and trust in your Allah, He who has given you the month of Ramadan in summers would also give you strength to fast in summers. Your job is to seek help from HIM and be prepared to enjoy the month of Ramadan at its extreme.

Attitude Towards Upcoming Ramadan

It’s not an ordinary month, so our attitude towards Ramadan must also be somewhat unique. Instead of being worried and anxious about Ramadan, we must be excited and full of energy to welcome Ramadan. ALLAH is giving us another opportunity in our life to witness the month of Ramadan, so we must be in our complete preparations to grab all the blessings of this month. Be happy and enthusiastic about the upcoming Ramadan. Make plans and time table; how would you benefit from this month of blessing at its fullest. What would be your strategies this Ramadan to enjoy this noble month. What special you are going to do in this particular month. I am planning for iftar parties and charities. And yes ! the most exciting thing about Ramadan EID. There is a lot to be excited about in Ramadan. So why this worried and anxious attitude about a month brings us so much joy and blessings? So let us pledge ourselves that we will now change our attitude towards the upcoming Ramadan. This change would not only be restricted to ourselves, but we would also motivate others to be excited, determined, happy, and eagerly waiting for the upcoming Ramadan.

What are the essential points for the upcoming Ramadan?

The month of blessings is ahead. Here we will discuss a few essential points for that we should be prepared.

Planning and Determination

Make a good strategy for the whole month about how you will organize your days and evenings during Ramadan. Plan respective schedules for your work so that you can pray on time, read the Quran and take your meals on time.  Have honest discretion and determination to take full advantage of this time. Also, have a complete determination and commitment that you will not do any sin or anything wrong during this time.

Learn the Rules of Fasting

Fasting is essential not to do anything that will harm your fasts.  Fast is not broken only by eating and drinking during the fast but also by conveying bad words and doing wrong things. Learn the way of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in fasting.
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: “Whosoever does not give up bad words and bad deeds, Allah does not need in that he leaves his food and his drink.” (Al-Bukhari)

Charity in Ramadan

The month of Ramadan is the month of kindness and generosity.  Let your non-Muslim friends and neighbours know about this month and its benefits. Be more generous and help the poor and needy. Plan to give to charity at this time and help others as much as you can. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was the most accommodating person, but he used to be more generous during Ramadan. Allay says in Quran about Charity,
Those who spend their wealth [in Allah’s way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly – will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. (AlQuran 2:274)
