The Qur’an is the word of ALLAH– every syllable of this noble legislation is from ALLAH. So it demands to be written, listened and read with great care and perfection. Listening to the Qur’an and recited correctly is enough to so often even the hardest of hearts. Muslims and non-Muslims alike find it a deeply moving experience even if they do not understand what is said. The greatest example of this fact is the reversion of Hazrat Umer bin Khattab (r.a). Indeed it was Quran recited in a beautiful voice which melted the heart of a person as harsh as Umer bin khattab.
Being a muslim, Quran recitation is a part of our daily five times prayer.Still we often think reciting quran with proper rules and tajweed is important for professionals only, which is very wrong. A book as great as Holy Quran, does deserve your efforts for its message to be properly conveyed.
What is Tajweed?
The Arabic word Tajweed linguistically means ‘proficiency‘ or ‘doing something well’. It comes from the same root letters as the word Jayyid, which means ‘good’. When applied to the Quran, it means giving every letter of the Quran its rights and dues of characteristics when we recite the Quran, and observing the rules that apply to those letters in different situations.
Your quran recitation can never be perfect with out tajweed. It is never too late to learn.Even if you never consider that it is important and never learnt tajweed, still its not late to learn this.
