Virtues of Quran: Part 3

Quran the words of Allah has many virtues. So, Each of Quran’s Surah is important but some of the Surat’s have special importance. The greatest virtue of Holy Quran is that it’s one letter recitation is equal to 10 Good deeds. So, Imagine if we recite only a page Daily, how many deeds we can earn!! SubhanAllah.

Some of the virtues of Holy Quran mentioned in our previous posts: Virtues of Quran part 1 and Virtues of Quran part 2 .In this post, we will mention Virtues of Some more Surah.

Virtues of Surah Ta-Ha

Narrated by ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Masood (R.A) that concerning Bani Israa’il (al-Isra’), al-Kahf, Maryam, Ta-Ha and al-Anbiya:

“They are among the best of the earliest ones that I learned by heart.”  [ al-Bukhaari (4994)].

These Soorahs contain stories of the Prophets (blessings and peace be upon them) and the nations. And they were among the first Soorahs to  revealed at the beginning of Islam.Because they are Makki Soorahs, and they were among the first parts of the Qur’aan to be recited and memorized.

Narrated from Abu Umaamah (R.A) that the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“The greatest name of Allah appears in three Soorahs of the Qur’aan: in al-Baqarah, Aal ‘Imraan and Ta-Ha.” [Narrated by Ibn Majaah (3856) and al-Haakim (1/686)]

Virtues of Surat Al-Anbiya

‘Abd-Allaah ibn Masood (R.A) said concerning Bani Israa’il (al-Isra’), al-Kahf, Maryam, Ta-Ha and al-Anbiya:

“They are among the best of the earliest ones that I learned by heart.”  [Narrated by al-Bukhaari (4994)]

Virtues of Surah Alif Lam Mim As-Sajdah

In the Book of the Friday prayer, Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Hurayrah (R.A) said:

“The Prophet used to recite in Fajr on Fridays Surah Alif Lam Mim As-Sajdah and Surah Al-Insan (76).

And Imam Ahmad recorded that Jabir said,

“The Prophet would never sleep until he recited Surah As-Sajdah and Surah Al-Mulk.

Virtues of Surah Yaseen

There are a number of ahaadeeth which speak of the virtues of this Soorah, most of which are false and fabricated.And some of which are slightly weak (da’eef). No Saheeh Hadith is found which speaks specifically of the virtues of Surah Ya-Seen.

Virtues of Surah As-Saffat

Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (R.A):

“The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to command us to make our prayers short and he used to recite As-Saffat when he lead us in prayer.” [Recorded by An-Nasa’i only]

Virtues of Surah az-Zumar

It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said:

The Prophet (PBUH) would not go to sleep until he had recited Bani Israa’eel (Soorat al-Isra’) and al-Zumar. [Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (3402)]

Virtues of Surah Ghafir

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Everything has an essence and the essence of the Qur’an is the family of Ha Mim” or he said, “the Ha Mims.”

Mis`ar bin Kidam said:

“They used to called `the brides’.” All of this recorded by the the Great scholar Abu `Ubayd Al-Qasim bin Sallam in his book Fada’il Al-Qur’an.

Humayd bin Zanjuyah narrated that Abdullah (R.A) said:

“The parable of the Qur’an is that of a man who sets out to find a place for his family to stay.And he comes to a place where there is evidence of rainfall. While he is walking about, admiring it, he suddenly comes upon beautiful gardens. He says, `I liked the first traces of rainfall, but this is far better.’ It was said to him., `The first place is like the Qur’an, and these beautiful gardens are like the splendor of family of Ha Mim in relation to the rest of the Qur’an’.” Recorded by Al-Baghawi.

Ibn Masud (R.A) said:

“When I reach the family of Ha Mim, it is like reaching a beautiful garden, so I take my time.”

Virtues of Surah Al-Fath

Imam Ahmad recorded from Abdullah bin Mughaffal, who said that Allah’s Messenger (PBUH) recited Surah Al-Fath on the (day) of the conquest of Makkah, riding on his she-camel. He recited it in a vibrating and pleasant tone.
