Hazrat Fatima bint e Muhammad (RA), famously known as Hazrat Fatima Az Zahra (RA), was the most favorite and beloved daughter of the Messenger of Allah (SAW). Fatima Az Zahra (RA) was born in Makkah, five years before the Prophethood of Messenger of Allah (SAW) on 20 Jamad al akhar. Her mother was Khadijah Bint Khuwailid (RA), Prophet’s first wife (SAW).

Hazrat Aisha (RA) said about Hazrat Fatima R.A:

“I did not see anyone resembling the Blessed Prophet (PBUH), regarding all manners, more perfectly than Fatima, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah.”

The Prophet Muhammad SAWW said About Hazrat Fatima R.A:

“I am not pleased unless Fatima is pleased.”

Her Early Life:

Hazrat Fatima is the beloved daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Her mother’s name is Khadija. She has been awarded many other titles Zahra (Lady of Light) and Sayyidatun Nisa al Alamin (Leader of the World’s women).

Fatima Az Zahra (RA) was nursed by her mother and brought up by her father (S.A.W.) in the Prophet’s (SAW) home, contrary to the local customs at that time where the newborns were sent to “wet nurses” in the surrounding villages. She spent her early youth under the care of her parents in Makkah and acquired the good manners of her parents.

When she was five years old, a significant change happened in her father’s (SAW) life as he was sent as a Messenger to all of humanity. After Messenger of Allah (SAW) declared his prophethood, Fatima (RA) suffered a lot of hardships and troubles. Among the severe troubles that she faced was the siege in the valley of Abu Talib, where she suffered the pain of hunger and thirst side by side with her father (S.A.W.) and early Muslims.

Death of Hazrat Khadijah (RA)

After the death of Hazrat Khadija, she looked after her father so devoutly that the Prophet Muhammad used to call her Umme Abiha. After Hazrat Khadija’s death, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) married umm e Salama to look after household chores.

Umm e Salamah was requested to tutor the Hazrat Fatima. She replied, how can I tutor Hazrat Fatima? She is the one who is in the personification of high virtues and purity. She also said, “I should learn from her.”

Struggle for Prophet Muhammad (SAW)

She saw her father preaching and struggling for Islam in a very hostile environment, but she always comforted her father.

Once Prophet Muhammad was praying in Kabah and was in prostration to ALLAH, Abu Jahl saw this and put tripe laden with a compost of the camel on the holy Prophet’s back; when Hazrat Fatima heard this news, she came running, removed it from Prophet’s back and washed the holy back. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said to his daughter.

“One day will be subdued these enemies, and the lord will give my religion utmost supremacy.”

Migration to Madinah

She migrated to Madinah at the age of eighteen. Hazrat Fatima (RA) and Hazrat Umm e Kulthum (RA) stayed in Makkah when Muslims migrated to Madinah. After a few days of migration, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) sent His companion to bring them to Madinah.

Marriage with Hazrat Ali (RA)

After the Battle of Badr, many great companions of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) came to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) for Hazrat Fatimah (RA), but He (SAW) apologized by saying to them that He is waiting for a sign from Allah.

After one year of marriage in the third year of Hijri, she gave birth to Hazrat Hassan Ibn e Ali, the first grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). In the fourth year of Hijri, one year after Hazrat Hassan’s birth, Hazrat Hussain ibn e Ali was born. Then she gave birth to the granddaughter of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Hazrat Zainab bint  Ali (RA).

An Outstanding Housewife Hazrat Fatima R.A

She did all the household work alone by her hands. The work included washing clothes, cooking food, grinding flour with her hands, sweeping, and teaching her children. She did all this very beautifully.

Once Prophet Muhammad asked his companions, “what is the best thing for women? When Hazrat Fatima heard this question, she said that the best thing for women is that her glances never fall on the male stranger, and the glance of a male stranger does not fall on her. When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) heard his daughter’s answer, he said that.

Fatima is a part of me.”

Once a blind man asked her permission to enter her house, but she put a veil between him and herself.Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) asked her that this person was blind and could not see you, then why did she put a veil between? She replied that he could not see me, but I could see him, and he could smell my fragrance. After her answer Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said

I bear witness that you are part of me.”

The life of Hazrat Fatima is exemplary for every woman. She was a lady of courage, purity, and righteousness. Hazrat Ayesha said

“I have never witnessed such a truthful person than Hazrat Fatima except for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) always visited her daughter whenever he returned from his journey.

Head of Women Of Paradise

Prophet Muhammad kissed her, stood up, and seated her in his place whenever she visited her father. Once Hazrat Fatima went to his father and asked for a servant for her household work. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) replied to her I shall tell you the thing which is much better than a servant, he said that before going to bed, always recite 33 times SUBHAN ALLAH 33 times ALHAMDU LILLAH and 34-time ALLAHU AKBAR. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Dear daughter, this will be much better for you than having a servant.

The Prophet Muhammad SAWW said:

“Fatima is the head of the women of Paradise.”

Queen of Women World:

As a wife, she loved Hazrat Ali dearly. She never asked anything from Hazrat Ali in her whole life. Once Hazrat Fatima was the ill Prophet, Muhammad visited her and asked about his health. She replied, “I am not well, and there is nothing to eat. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said

“Are you not pleased with the fact that you are the queen of women’s of World.

She said

“then what about Hazrat Maryam’s position?”

Prophet Muhammad replied:

“she is the queen of women of her own time, and you are the queen of women of your time.”

Once Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions were invited, but there was no food at home, Hazrat Fatima went to prayer and invoked Allah.

“O Allah Tour this bonds maid has invited your Beloved Prophet (PBUH) and His companions. Now, let me not feel ashamed in front of them.” Allah accepted her to invoke and filled the pot with heavenly food”.

Once Hazrat Fatima witnessed people making plans against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). They were making plans to murder the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Hazrat Fatima told her father. As a result, enemies failed to fulfill their plan.

There is no worshiper in the World like Hazrat Fatima. Her feet had swelled because of standing in prayer. Prophet Muhammad honored her and praised her daughter.

Anas bin Malik’s mothers said:

“Fatima was like a moon on its full night, or the sun covered by no clouds. She was white (fair) with a touch of rose color on her face, her hair was black, and she had the beautiful features of the Messenger of Allah (S).”

Death of Hazrat Fatima (RA)

Hazrat Fatima (RA) fell ill soon after the death of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the eleventh year of Hijri. She died soon after her father’s death. She was twenty-seven years at the time of Her death. The month of her death is not known; many scholars said She died in Shaban, many said in Shawal but not confirmed.
